Grant Middle School basketball teams will be competing in the PIL Middle School League, which is made up of eight PIL schools: Grant, Lincoln, Wilson, Cleveland, Madison, Jefferson, Roosevelt and Franklin. Each High School will assemble two equal teams at the 6th, 7th and 8th Grade levels for both boys and girls. 12 teams total. Each team to consist of between 10 and 12 players. All players must live in their High School catchment area to play on the team. Each program can make a judgment to add additional players.

Practice: Each team will have two 1.5 hour practices each week. Majority of Grant practices to be held at Beverly Cleary. Beaumont Middle School may be utilized as well, depending on time constraints. Coordinator/coaches will work with the neighborhood feeder school contacts to arrange the practice schedule for all teams.

Weekday games to take place at 5 PM for 6th graders, 6:15 PM for 7th graders and 7:30 PM for 8th graders. Saturday game times have not been determined yet.

Tournaments: PIL will cover the cost of playing in three tournaments.

Coaches may choose to participate in more than 3 tournaments. Completely up to each coach on how many games they want to play.

Cost: $150 per player. If kids participate in the free and reduced lunch program, the fee will be reduced to $60.

PIL has secured NIKE as a major sponsor to provide the following for each player:

Team Uniforms (to be returned at the end of the season)
Hoody sweatshirt
1 pair of Nike basketball shoes
Practice Jersey for Boys teams. Girls to reuse there practice jersey's from last year.
Coaches Polo Shirts
6 Nike Basketballs and ball bag
